Walking through the backstreet of Saigon is the best way to have a unique experience and get closer to the local life behind the buildings. You would also have a chance to have a real streetstyle Vietnamese coffee and exchange stories with a local.

Itinerary

Your Travelmates guide will meet you at 8am for a morning walking tour through the heart of Saigon’s authentic backstreets. The tour will last approximately 3 hours depending on your walking pace and weather conditions. We recommend you wear comfortable walking shoes and outfits for you best comfort.

Saigon is a cultural melting pot with something to offer every traveller - boasting many historic, French-built landmarks, bustling local markets and vibrant street scenes. On this walking tour your knowledgeable local guide will guide you through some of the backstreets of this energetic city. 

Kicking off at an atmospheric local market, the tour weaves through narrow alleys into some of the friendliest neighbourhoods in the city. Here guests can watch vendors dish out delicious meals from vast stainless steel terrines and enjoy a glass of ca phe sua da (Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk) while perched on a tiny plastic stool. Explore lanes and alleyways few tourists get to see and experience real local street life with all of its colour and activity. You will have a chance to visit one of the local temples such as Thien Hau (the mother Goddess of the sea), Ngu Hanh (five elements), and a local church. It’s a good chance to chat about what we have been seeing along the way, sampling local street food as you wish or sip a Vietnamese coffee from a cool café place.

You will return to your hotel around mid-day.
