Overview

Hoa Lu is the ancient capital of Vietnam dating back to the 10th century before it was moved to Thang Long Hanoi early 11th century and Trang An is known as a World Heritage Site or “Halong bay on land”. A trip to Hoa Lu and Trang An bring you the opportunity to visit the former capital and to be shared more stories about those great Emperors of Vietnam and enjoy boarding on a small boat through the magnificent scenery of lush rice paddies. On this overnight trip, you will also visit Phat Diem cathedral, one of the most beautiful, and famous, churches in Vietnam

DAY1 HANOI TO NINH BINH

This morning you will be picked up from your hotel and driven to the beautiful area of Ninh Binh often described as Halong Bay on land. In Ninh Binh you will have the opportunity to cycle through the unique scenery and neighbouring villages to the ancient capital of Hoa Lu where you will visit Dinh and Le temples. You will also have a chance to visit Bich Dong pagoda,built in 1428, early in the Later Le Dynasty. With its name "the second most beautiful cave in Vietnam", the ancient beauty of this place will leave a great impression to most travellers. In the afternoon, also take a paddle boat ride through the beautiful karst limestone fringed waterways of Trang An Ecosite. On the boat you will venture through multiple water caves seeing some amazing pagodas set amidst stunning verdant backdrops.

DAY2 NINH BINH TO HANOI

This morning drive to Phat Diem cathedral - one of the most beautiful, and famous, churches in Vietnam. The architecture is influenced by both Vietnamese and European styles and was built of stone, extracted from the surrounding limestone mountains, and wood over a 24 year period. Explore the beautiful cathedral and the surrounding area before transferring back to Hanoi in the afternoon. This trip allows for some amazing photographic opportunities in a unique region of Vietnam, a world away from Vietnam’s frantic cities.
