Day 1 | Ho Chi Minh City – Ben Tre – Can Tho

Meals: Lunch

Leave the city's bustle behind as you journey into Ben Tre, a peaceful province renowned for its coconut groves, winding waterways, and warm local hospitality.

Begin your exploration with a visit to a traditional family workshop, where generations have preserved the craft of making Mỹ Lồng rice paper by hand. Continue to a lively local market, where fresh produce and daily trade offer a genuine glimpse into life in the Mekong Delta, before visiting Thiên Hậu Temple, an important spiritual landmark reflecting the area's rich cultural heritage.

Board your private boat and cruise along the Hàm Luông River, observing the ever-changing rhythms of riverside life. Along the way, discover small family-run workshops where coconuts are transformed into a remarkable range of products, from traditional sweets to environmentally friendly charcoal made from coconut shells.

As the waterways narrow, your journey becomes increasingly tranquil. Drift through secluded canals shaded by lush nipa palms before stepping ashore to visit a local family specializing in traditional sleeping-mat weaving. Enjoy seasonal tropical fruits and Vietnamese tea while learning about a craft that has supported generations of local families.

Continue your exploration by xe lôi (motorized cart) or bicycle, following quiet village lanes lined with coconut palms, rice fields and vegetable gardens. This leisurely journey offers an intimate look at rural life and the agricultural traditions that define the Mekong Delta.

A home-hosted lunch awaits at a local house, where freshly prepared regional specialties showcase the simple yet distinctive flavours of southern Vietnam.

In the afternoon, experience one of the Mekong's most peaceful moments aboard a hand-rowed sampan. Glide silently beneath a canopy of water palms through narrow canals untouched by larger boats, before rejoining your river cruiser for the return journey to Hàm Luông Pier.

Optional: if time permits, pay a visit to Vinh Trang (My Tho) on your way to Ben Tre or Jade Buddha Pagoda and Relics (Vinh Long) on the way to Can Tho.

Continue on to Can Tho for an overnight stay.
