Overview
If you would like to learn more about Vietnamese history and how they fought for their freedom during the Vietnam War then Cu Chi Tunnel is one of the place that shouldn’t be missed out. The tunnels of Cu Chi are an immense network of connecting tunnels located in Cu Chi District, Ho Chi Minh city, and are a part of a much larger network of tunnels that underlie much of the country. You will be explored amazing tunnels, try to fit your body on camouflaged trap door and experience the life of Viet Cong soldiers underground.
Itinerary
Your Travelmates local guide will meet you at 8am from your hotel lobby for a journey west to Cu Chi. The tunnel network stretches over 250km and extends to three levels underground providing you with a remarkable insight into the hardships, courage, determination and terror of a guerrilla war.
On arrival you will be guided through the unbelievable tunnels used by the communist guerrillas during the Vietnam War. Explore the tunnel site, which includes weapon and booby trap exhibitions, navigating authentic Viet Cong tunnel, visiting different underground bunkers (kitchens, meeting rooms, ammunitions etc.), a firing range and much more. Try the local cassava root that sustained Viet Cong fighters for years.
You will return to your hotel at approximately midday where the tour ends.
